Dr. Douglas Lynch

Dr. Lynch currently serves as the Program Chair for the Department of Education at the University of New England. His extensive professional career includes serving in roles that include President and Executive Board Member of the PA Council for the Social Studies as well as Associate Professor and Chair of Wilkes University Education Department. His primary research includes Educational Psychology with an emphasis on motivational and cognitive applications to teaching. Dr. Lynch has 31 publications in peer reviewed sources and has presented at 62 professional conferences at international through local levels. Among his honors are receiving the Faculty Achievement Award from Wilkes University and being recognized as an Outstanding Educator by the College of Education at Wichita State University. Dr. Lynch is very intrigued and excited about ways to use online learning to engage people in novel learning experiences. He feels that “we have just begun to tap the potential for connecting learners in meaningful professional communities” and “embraces this rich opportunity to work with a national community of educators.
